INTCATCH programme meeting - Vienna

We're now six months into the INTCATCH programme and it's really taking shape. Assisted by Downstreams, the wide variety of partners from across Europe are using online collaboration technologies to effectively share information, updates & conversations about the environmental monitoring technologies & approaches they are developing.

Simultaneously, future monitoring strategies & innovative business models for exploiting the new technologies are being developed.

We're really looking forward to meeting up with all of the INTCATCH programme partners face to face next week in Vienna, to discuss next steps in technology development, applications within the demonstration catchments & technology exploitation.

Cleaning up the Quays

The "Irwell Pride" Litter Boat outside Salford Quays

We've loved supporting the Healthy Rivers Trust in their partnership with national construction company Morgan Sindall Infrastructure. During this time, the partners have used the Downstreams engagement platform to issue pre-paid charity donation tokens which Morgan Sindall have issued in newsletters to neighbours of their high profile construction site on Salford Quays. The tokens provide a guaranteed charity donation of £1 to the Healthy Rivers Trust "Irwell Pride" litter boat that cleans up the Quays for local residents.

During December, this helped raise an additional £1,220 from businesses for the project as well as gaining additional supporters, who can now keep in touch with the project through the platform's News & Chat features, thus becoming loyal superfans who may donate again or refer to friends.

Fixing the Frome

We've been busy setting up our platform to build brand-sponsored relationships between river improvement projects & their community of supporters. As a result of a collaboration betweeen Downstreams and Bristol & Avon Rivers Trust, we have our first prject live on the system: a great new opportunity for Fixing the Frome in Somerset.

Have a look at what they're up to and please support their work with a small donation.
That'll enable you to keep in touch with the project & send them messages!
